Tuzigoot National Monument Photos

Arizona, United States

Tuzigoot is the remains of a Southern Sinagua village that was built on a hilltop in the Verde Valley. In its prime, the pueblo was home to over 250 people who lived in over 100 ground floor and second story rooms. The first rooms were constructed as early as 1000 AD but the pueblo was abandoned for unknown reasons by around 1400AD. The name Tuzigoot comes from the Apache language and means "crooked water".
