If you are a first time visitor to my website, Bay Images is my collection of travel, nature and stock photography. I sell prints and license images. If you happen to visit my blog today, you’ve got an opportunity to win a prize. I am giving away three 10 x 15 inch fine art prints from my photography collection. If you want to be one of the three winners, all you have to do is browse
Bay Images, then leave a comment below with a link to the image that you would like to win and tell me why you chose that particular image. Two of the prints will awarded in a random drawing. The third will go to the person with the most interesting comment. The deadline to enter is 12:00 noon pacific time on Monday, April 19. Thank you for visiting and taking the time to check out my photography.
This contest is now closed.
Thank you to everyone who entered! The print winners in the random drawing were Kristal and Grace Hester. It was really hard to decide on the winner of the print for the most interesting comment. But I had to decide, so the winner is Maureen Hall. I will contact the winners directly to arrange shipment of their prints.

Hi Stephen,
Very nice pictures! It was hard to choose, but I think my favorite is:

best,
Hanneke
I like Photo #9896, Its a beautiful scene and reminds me that even though we (as in mankind) are still very young and tiny in the grand scheme of things. We still have the power to change and alter the world around us sculpting the very mountains and rocks nature created and in doing so ensuring we are not forgotten. I think everyone could enjoy seeing this, if for nothing more than the majestic awe inspiring feeling you relay in this photo.
Very beautiful and inspiring.
I would like the Zions NP because I live in UT and have NEVER been there, can you believe that? Its looks fabulous in your picture.
I love the pic at the Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC. The Wright Brothers were a pretty amazing duo. They’re a true testiment that failure is to be celebrated because if you haven’t failed at something, then you’re not trying hard enough. Their efforts certainly paid off.
Way to capture something so great with so much meaning!
I would love to win Photo #8917, from your Peru series. Why? My husband’s grandfather was from Peru – an ambassador, actually – and while the family has strong roots there, visiting is not really in the cards for us. My husband did visit once when he was very young and the sunsets are something he remembers vividly.
Beautiful photos. The one I love is of Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica (http://bayimages.net/view-photos/countryside-arenal-volcano-14171.html) … my husband and I honeymooned there. We could lay in the hotel room bed, look out the balcony and had a view of the volcano directly ahead. It was very cool at night, seeing the lava flow. Our 12 year wedding anniversary is May 30.
Photo #276
I like photo # 276 fireworks on independence day. Fireworks are exciting…
In life we all should have great fireworks. We are lucky to have our independence as in many parts of the world people do not. So cherish what you have and remember to be THANKFUL everyday for it. Not only that Fireworks are beautiful and each one is very different.

All of the photos are amazing. You have a great eye. My favorite is the Washington Monument taken from the tidal basin. I was born in Georgetown Hospital and DC will always be “home” for me. This picture really made me smile and warmed my heart because it is the view I see when I go “home” to visit my parents. Thanks for making me smile!

Torn between the Chicago skylines and San Fransisco’s Painted Ladies, I’ll have to go with San Francisco all the way – http://bayimages.net/view-photos/painted-ladies-alamo-square-park-san-francisco-12643.html. I visited San Francisco a couple of years ago and remember walking up and down (mainly up) the picturesque neighborhoods. Even though I took pictures on my trip, I think this photo really captures the moment, awe, and experience. Your whole collection is amazing. Great job!

I am choosing http://bayimages.net/view-photos/close-up-spotted-necked-otter-5380.html because Otters are love. You don’t want do deprive me of love do you? That could become a serious problem. If I don’t have love, I might have to smack someone.
Love now, and hopefully in the future, Brad.
Your fine art looks amazing, being that we are in the apparel industry any type of artwork is awesome, it would be so awesome to hang a print in our print shop. Keep up the great work!

Hi Stephen,
Your photos are beautiful! I’m planning a motorcycle trip for this summer, and I’m really blown away by the pictures of Monument Valley. Maybe I’ll visit there myself, but for now, I’d love to have a copy of (http://bayimages.net/view-photos/panorama-mittens-merrick-butte-monument-valley-22101.html) to inspire my trip-planning efforts.
Thanks!
Gene
1522 has the lushest blues and greens. One of the things on my bucket list is to spend a month in Australia. This picture gives me more incentive to check that off sooner than later.

I absolutely love photo #14031
It’s showing hope and courage that the baby turtle has getting to the sea after I long trek on the beach battling nature.
<3 it
Photo #9896 is awesome!
My absolute favorite is http://bayimages.net/view-photos/agave-93.html
I dig the v bar v petroglyph pictures they’re close to me maybe I should go take a look sometime
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/corn-field-iowa-12862.html
I was initially drawn to this image because it was under the subheading of Iowa. I lived in Iowa for four years and, now living in New York City, I feel the midwestern states are not given the credit they deserve. I particularly love this photograph because it captures how vast and plentiful these fields truly are. They are vital to this country and the photograph captures this field’s vitality.
Your pictures are gorgeous–I have to pick only one?! Well, then, I pick http://bayimages.net/view-photos/colonnade-palace-fine-arts-88.html , one of your San Francisco pictures. It had to be an SF pic today, since this is the anniversary of the 1906 quake, and San Francisco is the place I yearn to visit. Secondly, this photo has a mystical quality; it captures the magic of l’heure bleue, the blue hour, when nothing is quite as it seems–and the golden building seems to be floating in that star-spangled azure sea. Is it real? Does this place really exist–or is it all a beautiful dream?
When I was I child, I thought the puffy white flowers in my front lawn were the most bee-yoooo-ti-full flowers in the world, and couldn’t understand why my elders didn’t enjoy them as much as I did. Therefore, I’d pick #129 (Dandelion) as a reminder of a time when life was simple and joyful (as opposed to complex and joyful)…when beautiful things were enjoyed for what they were at that very moment, without thought or consideration of the consequences they might bring.
I love your photography. I’m so jealous of all the places you’ve been. I would pick the Sunrise on Machu Picchu. Peru Photo #9951 and give it to my mom. It’s been her dream to visit Machu Picchu and since I can’t actually send her there, the picture would some what give her the sense of being there. All that aside, its an absolutely gorgeous picture.
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/fireworks-independence-day-276.html This one is definitely my favorite. I LOVE photography. My dad was a photographer for most of his life. The “fireworks” ones are awesome, because they are ALWAYS unique. All of your stuff is great, though. Keep up the great work!
I love this pic of the sunset over the chicago skyline!
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/sunset-over-chicago-10745.html
I see so many typical skylines from far away (you have some of those too) but rarely have I seen one w/ the streets.
I love this sunflower picture! http://bayimages.net/view-photos/sunflower-velvet-queen-1962.html This is my favorite flower. I take pictures too, but of my turtle. HA! Yours photography is real neat! KUDOS to you!
I love: http://bayimages.net/view-photos/view-from-above-temple-of-the-sun-machu-picchu-10107.html … Why? Because if I could, I would get married there.
Your photos are amazing! You have captured some absolutely fantastic images of many incredible places.
If I had to choose only one image, it would have to come from your Bhutan collection and specifically the one of Tigers Nest with the light fog rolling in the background http://bit.ly/bkQ6lX .
Such an amazing country, incredible people and a culture that has embraced happiness like no other that I’ve ever seen.
I choose this photo because it’s better than any one that I have and looking at the image takes me right back to one of the most amazing destinations in the world.
I love #11746 ( http://bayimages.net/view-photos/golden-gate-bridge-night-11746.html )
Its beautiful. I have been to San Fran once, to visit my son who is in college there. This really brings out the beauty of the city and the bridge. This would remind me of my son everytime I would walk by it! That would be amazing.
What beautiful photos! Amazing talent! I really like the Close-up of petrified wood. Petrified Forest NP, Arizona. Photo #17988. I would love to have this in my bedroom, the colors are great and it takes you a moment to figure out what the photo os exactly.
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/close-up-petrified-wood-17988.html
Ive never been to Yosemitte, I would pick this for sure

I just spent way too much time in your gallery, engrossed in the beautiful photos of all these wonderful places you have travelled to. Thanks for sharing!
It was really really hard to choose, I loved every photo of your animal series. So I went the other end of the spectrum and picked the shot of Cleveland’s The Flats,
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/cleveland-memorial-state-highway-4250.html
My husband and I have fond memories of his birth city and the first city I relocated to when I moved to the US from Singapore. This will be a nice surprise for him should I win it. *crossing fingers*
Barren Tree from the Monument Valley collection
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/barren-tree-monument-valley-18835.html
I love seeing the tenacity of this tree in the desert- even though the tree now looks barren, there is something uplifting and inspiring about it.
Hi,
I really like this rose photo: http://bayimages.net/view-photos/palmetto-sunrise-miniature-rose-6174.html
Rose is my favorite flower, and when I look at this photo it’s like I can almost smell its scent.
What a great contest! Your photography is amazing. My favorite is:
http://bayimages.net/view-photos/chinese-poetry-carved-into-walls-22057.html
…the picture of the Chinese poetry carved into the wall in the detention barracks. There is something really beautiful about that, especially as I happen to love poetry. I love what it says that it was written there.

Oh, to hike Zion again! To wake to the cool morning, wash my face, tie the laces of my boots and go. Looking up, hiking up, reaching for the clear blue sky. Sitting down to rest and talking to Michael about how lucky we are, we two together on a trail in Zion.
I don’t have lots of pictures, but I have my mind’s snapshots of Zion. Thanks for refreshing the memories.
I started out looking for a picture for myself and my home, and I found plenty I would LOVE to have, but then I saw this one: http://bayimages.net/view-photos/three-servicemen-statue-washington-dc-10860.html of the Three Servicemen Statue at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. and knew instantly that it would be the one I chose. My father-in-law served in Vietnam and would be honored to hang this in his home.
My favorite photo is the Graveyard in Goldfield, Arizona because I have taken quite a few pictures of cementaries and find them very interesting.

I commented on jasons status first, but I guess Im suppose to comment on here instead? Repost: I love Stephen’s work. I really enjoyed his korean ritual photos, but my favorite has to be his ‘Newly hatched baby Atlantic Green Sea Turtle struggles to reach the ocean.’ I have always found their journey both inspiring and heartbreaking.

Wow! I am so honored to be able to own one of your prints! I plan to frame it and place it in with our “life” collage of photos in our living room. Thanks!
Oh, I am so excited to win! I love your work and I’m going to love having one of your prints hanging on my wall! Thank you so much!
