Kowloon Park is a large public park in Tsim Sha Tsui that is located on the west side of Nathan Road in between Haiphong and Austin Roads. The park was originally known as the Whitfield Barracks and served as a British military base. The park as it now stands was opened in 1970 and was later redeveloped in 1989 by the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. The park contains many recreational and sports facilities and you can often see people practicing martial arts in the southeast corner.
