Tian Tan Buddha Photos

Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha is giant bronze statue of a seated Buddha. It is 34m high and was made from 202 bronze pieces weighing a total of 250 tons. The Buddha was the worlds largest until the construction of a 36m high bronze buddha in 2007 at the Nam Mireuk Temple in South Korea. The Buddha is located on the Nging Pong plateau at the top of 268 steps. It is adjacent to the Po Lin Monastery.
