Miracle Mile is a mile long section on Wilshire Boulevard between Fairfax and La Brea avenues noted for its art deco and Streamline moderne buildings. In the 1920's Wilshire Boulevard was an unpaved road running through farms but A.W. Ross developed it to become a vibrant a commercial district competing with downtown Los Angeles. Today the area is also known as Museum Row because it is home to several museums such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the George C. Page Museum (La Brea Tar Pits), and the Peterson Automotive Museum.
