Lantau Island ("broken head") is the largest island in Hong Kong covering an area of approximately 150 square kilometers. The island has several of Hong Kong's most popular attractions on the Ngong Ping Plateau including the world's largest seated Buddha, the Tian Tan Buddha, and the Po Lin Monastery. You can get to the island by ferry from Central to Mui Wo (operated by New World First Ferry) or take the MTR to Tung Chung.
This page contains two galleries with photos of the Tian Tan Buddha and the Po Lin Monastery.
