The Kowloon peninsula is located just north of Hong Kong Island and although it covers only a small area, is one of the densest populated areas in the world (approximately 50,000 people per square kilometer). At the southern end of the peninsula is Tsim Sha Tsui which is primarily a shopping district, and at the northern end lies Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei which both have an array of markets.
