Bristlecone Pines

Bristlecone pines are among the oldest living organisms on earth and they can reach an age of up to 5000 years old. They grow at high altitude in exposed, windy areas that are subject to the bitter cold. Each tree has only a small amount of living tissue and foliage, and most of the tree's limbs are dead and take on odd, twisted shapes due to years of exposure to the elements.
