San Francisco sits at the tip of a peninsula that separates the Pacific Ocean from the San Francisco Bay. To the north of the city, across the Golden Gate Bridge lies the Marin Headlands, and to the south lies Silicon Valley. Although the city is just seven miles square, it is filled with attractions and is one of the top tourist destinations in the United States.
San Francisco is full of steep hills which can be strenuous to climb, but it is a wonderful place to explore on foot. The city has many eclectic neighborhoods such as Haight Ashbury and the Castro district. It also boasts numerous festivals throughout the year such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, Carnaval, and Chinese New Year.
